Scrabble Valentine Art

I have been wanting to do one of these for awhile but figured there is no better time than the present holiday!  I had planned to do it at Christmas but never got around to it.

I have to be honest, the hardest part of this project was deciding on the words.  What would play well together, what would fit, what would look 'good'.  Scrabble is my favorite game and there are always Words Free, Word Feud or Scrabble games in play on my iphone at all times but I struggled with this for 30 minutes.

Once I decided on the words and placement I hit my frame stash.  I settled on this cheap frame from Wal-mart that I think was $2.

Once I opened it up I realized that I could use the black backing and create more of a shadow box.

Then I started hot gluing my letters.  I used a ruler because straight lines aren't my thing either.

Once complete, since I had 'dead' space in the frame and an open frame I simply taped it.  And because of the type of frame it is I can still hang it up if I want to.

And here it is all done!

Easy, cheap and adorable!  I am thinking, and hoping, that since I used hot glue I can pop them off of the backing if I don't want to put it up until next year.

Don't forget about the Valentine crafting and cooking contest over at Bacon Time With The Hungry Hungry Hypo!

Check out all of the places I party here!
